The Memory Kabupaten Ende tidak hanya memiliki icon alam Danau Tiga Warna Kelimutu yang luar biasa. Namun sebagai titik tengah pulau Flores, Kota Ende sendiri memiliki berbagai warisan sejarah yang teramat sangat penting bagi kemerdekaan Indonesia.  Di kota kecil inilah pada tahun 1934 - 1938, tokoh politik kemerdekaan Indonenia Ir.Soekarno diasingkan, sebelum  akhirnya  beliau  menjadi  Presiden Pertama  Republik  Indonesia.  Di  tempat  ini pulalah,  Bung  Karno  (begitu  beliau  dijuluki), menemukan lima butir Pancasila yang hingga kini menjadi dasar serta     simbol      negara Indonesia.  

Jalan Soekarno adalah salah satu kawasan kota lama Ende, dimana di seputaran Jalan Soekarno terdapat  beberapa situs warisan sejarah Soekarno dan Pancasila. Dimulai dari Pelabuhan Ende / Bung Karno yang berjarak 200 meter dari titik O Km Kota Ende, yaitu tempat dimana Kapal Jan Van Riebeck mengangkut Ir,Soekarno dan keluarga untuk dari Surabaya untuk disaingkan selama empat tahun di Ende.  Lokasi kedua dan seterusnya hanya  berjarak  100  -  200  meter  adalah  Taman  Renungan Pancasila (tempat dimana Soekarno menemukan Pancasila), Kantor Militer    Belanda (kini       Kantor   Polisi Militer),   Rumah Pengasingan  Soekarno,  Serambi  Soekarno,  Masjid  Ar-Rabitha serta  Makam Ibu Amsi (makam ibu mertua Soekarno)

Ende is not only a district that has an extraordinary natural  icon of Three Colours Lakes Kelimutu. However, as  the middle point of the island  of  Flores,  the  city  of  Ende  itself  has various  historical heritages that are very important for Indonesia's independence. In this small town, in 1934 - 1938, the political figure of Indonesian independence Ir. Soekarno was exiled, before finally he became the First President of the Republic of Indonesia. It was also in this place that Karno (as he was nicknamed), found the five points of Pancasila which until now have become the basis and symbol of the Indonesia. Jalan Soekarno is one of the old town areas of Ende, where around Jalan Soekarno there are several historical heritage sites of Soekarno and Pancasila. Starting from Ende / Soekarno Port which is 200 meters from the O Km point of the town,  this  is  the  place  where  the  Jan  Van  Riebeck  Ship transported Ir. Soekarno and his family from Surabaya for his four years exilation in Ende. The second location and so on is only 100 - 200 meters away is the Pancasila (the place where Soekarno found Pancasila), the Dutch Military Office (now the Military Police Station), Soekarno Exile House,  Serambi Soekarno ,  Ar-Rabitha Mosque and the cemetry of Mrs. Amsi (Soekarno's mother-in- law). That’s why this street is meaningful as it is the memory lane.

The Event Dalam rangka mengangkat nilai - nilai historikal kawasan kota lama Ende serta memeriahkan hari kelahiran Pancasila pada tanggal 1 Juni,  Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Ende menyelenggarakan event Soekarno Straatvaganza yang bermakna extraVAGANZA (kemeriahan) di Jalan Soekarno (SOEKARNO STRAAT /Jalan Soekarno  dalam bahasa Belanda). Event yang bertemakan pameran ekonomi kreatif serta mengangkat tagline  JAJAKI JEJAK SOEKARNO ini menampilkan berbagai UMKM / EKRAF di Kabupaten Ende serta Kabupaten Nagekeo, permainan rakyat, kelas menenun, kelas menganyam, kelas memasak, pameran arsitektur dari Universitas Flores serta persewaan pakaian adat (lengkap dengan make over) untuk digunakan sebagai property foto pada photo booth bertemakan adat serta photo booth bertema kekinian.  “Penekanan pada event ini adalah pada pemberdayaan UMKM / Ekraf serta mencoba mengangkat nilai-nilai kelokalan yang dibalut dalam nuansa edukasi dan konservasi warisan budaya”, ujar Rosalia J.E,Rae, SST.Par, Event Director sekaligus Kepala Bidang Industri Pariwisata pada Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Ende.

Dalam rangka menghidupkan kembali permainan rakyat yang sudah semakin ditinggalkan oleh anak-anak generasi terkini, Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Ende berinisiatif menyelenggarakan event Bego Ga’i Night selama 3 hari. Event ini selain untuk menghidupkan kembali permainan rakyat, juga bertujuan untuk menambah atraksi wisata di Kota Ende, dimana diharapkan permainan-permainan yang ditampilkan dapat menjadi tambahan atraksi bagi wisatawan yang menyinggahi Kota Ende. “Selain itu dengan hadirnya event ini juga diharapkan mampu memberikan dampak ekonomi bagi pedagang di Pantai Kotaraja serta masyarakat sekitarnya”, ujar Diana Patricia, Event Director, merangkap Kepala Bidang Destinasi Wisata Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Ende.

Jauh sebelum era digital, permainan rakyat adalah hal yang mengisi waktu luang bagi anak-anak di daerah Ende - Lio. Banyak variasi permainan rakyat yang dimainkan serta dilakukan secara massal / berkelompok. Bagi masyarakat Ende - Lio, waktu luang untuk bermain tersebut disebut juga dengan Bego (Bermain) yang dilakukan secara gembira / Ga’i. Permainan - permaina dalam bego ga’i ini bisa dilakukan kapan saja, namun anak-anak pada masa tersebut akan sangat bergembira apabila bermain di malam hari (apalagi pada saat bulan purnama). Seiring waktu berjalan permainan -permainan rakyat tersebut sudah hampir tidak pernah dilakukan bahkan cenderung dilupakan. Untuk hal tersebut Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Ende merasa perlu melestarikan lagi berbagai permainan rakyat tersebut yang mengandung nilai kebersamaan dan sosialisai diri bagi anak-anak. Kegiatan yang dibuka secara resmi oleh Pj.Bupati Ende Dr.dr.Agustinus G.Ngasu,M.Kes, MMR ini juga turut disponsori oleh Bank NTT, Sokoria Geothermal, Global Mart, PT.Pelindo, Koperasi Gerbang Kasih, Brimob Ende dan PPLP Mapindo Ende. 

Long before the digital era, folk games were a thing that filled free time for children in the Ende - Lio area. Many variations of folk games are played and carried out in masses / groups. For the people of Ende - Lio, the free time to play is also called Bego (Play) which is done happily / Ga'i. These games in bego ga'i can be done at any time, but children at that time will be very happy if they play at night (especially during the full moon). Over time, these folk games have almost never been done and even tend to be forgotten. For this reason, the Ende Regency Tourism Office feels the need to preserve these various folk games that contain the value of togetherness and selfsocialization for children. The event, which was officially opened by the Acting Regent of Ende Dr.dr.Agustinus G.Ngasu, M.Kes, MMR, was also sponsored by Bank NTT, Sokoria Geothermal, Global Mart, PT.
